Import: Accessible Walk-in / Slide-in Tub Line
Accessible Walk-in Tub Line with full access outward swinging door

Many of our customers are experiencing significant mobility issues, and require additional engineering to be able to bathe independently, or with help, in their own home. Amazing’s Good level of our Accessible Walk-in / Slide-in Bathtubs are comparable to or better than most all other accessible walk-in tubs being sold over the internet. The full-side outward swinging doors allow direct access to the seat, whether from a standing position, or a wheelchair.
These tubs originate mostly from the European designs imported into the US for many years. Amazing Walk-in Bathtubs offers a popular 28” wide and 50” long and 38” high size option at our Good level of Accessible Walk-in Therapy Tubs.
All “Good” level products follow the same general quality standards, built to minimize cost and maintain serviceable quality.
“Good” means that these Accessible Walk-in Bathtubs represent our economy line, and we can price them to meet (or more often beat) any other low price walk-in tub you might encounter on the web. Please do not be pressured or misled into purchasing a lower quality tub from a high pressure or “trickster” internet sales person. Side wall framing is thinner which means more room in the bathing well than some other walk-in tubs having the same footprint. Seats are at the ADA recommended 17” height.
Keep in mind, there are many walk-in tubs out there that we will never sell. There are many re-sellers who will sell problematic tubs to you and never give it another thought.
Our
Good level of Accessible Line walk-in / slide-in
bathtubs come pre-plumbed from the factory, have good
quality European style valves (actually very nice rapid
flow valves), Euro style dual stopper and chain drains,
entry level jets and good quality components. The
showering system is either through a diverter (not ADA,
but the approach with which most Americans are
accustomed), or an upgrade to our dual valve system with
a separate TMV shower valve.
The
door is 2-piece and has a dual articulating hinge that
is manually lifted up from the sealing pocket and then
pushed down into a pocket molded in the shell to open
and close. The dual hinge allows for operation in more
confining bathrooms. This manual lifting and closing
process, combined with the need to push the door into
and out of its pocket means maintenance is important,
and some will find it difficult to operate independently
if they are weaker or have stability issues. However,
the performance of these tubs in the field has been
quite good.
Access
to plumbing is somewhat difficult, and is achieved by
way of a 2-piece front panel that covers the entire
front of the walk-in tub.
The structural framing of these tubs is wood, bonded to the shell with fiberglass fabric. Given the framing is raw wood and there are no tile flanges on these tubs, it is important to insure that proper water-proof chalking is maintained throughout the life of use. The wood frame provides a sturdy and warmer feel to the fiberglass.
Many
years of experience in the market has taught us the
hinge on this walk-in / slide-in tub will tend to flex
over time, and requires periodic maintenance. We believe
that 10+ years of residential use is realistic with
proper care.
Amazing’s GOOD level of our Accessible Walk-in / Slide-in Bathtubs are a great option for anyone with less mobility on a tight budget. We can almost always meet,… and frequently beat, any price on the internet. And, at Amazing Walk-in Therapy Tubs, we are here to help you and work with you all the way.
WARNING: Accessible walk-in bathtubs are a design not commonly sold on the internet. Many manufacturers and internet re-sellers cannot help consumers determine the best solution for their needs because the consumer and the re-sellers themselves don’t understand the vast difference between one walk-in tub and another. However, just as with cars, appliances, clothing and everything else we purchase, there are vast differences in quality. We understand there are Yugos, Kias, Chryslers, Toyotas and Bentleys when it comes to cars. Most consumers of cars know the difference and can choose for themselves the quality level that best suits their needs. NOT SO WITH WALK-IN BATHTUBS!
SO, beware, … there are many re-sellers of walk-in tubs selling low quality at high prices, low quality at low prices, and everything in between. For everyone on a budget, we will help you understand and decide for yourself just what your “best” walk-in bathtub choice really is.
